You can develop motivation in different ways:
- Draw attention to where and how programs are used: in phones they help to send messages, in washing machines they control washing, in cars they control speed, etc. In this way kids will understand what opportunities programming opens.
- Offer them to attend a programming course. By observing other kids’ progress, feeling support children can develop their skills further.
- Try to find what your kid likes. If he doesn’t like programming, don’t make him do it. He might be interested in web or game design, etc.
Express your sincere interest. Everything that is important for your kid, must be important for you as well. Be interested in his achievements, listen to his stories about programs.
