The main benefit of gamification is that while playing a person is willing to study something new, explore and think. Learning something by playing gives an opportunity to put what has been learned into practice.
Gamification teaches to work in a team, helps develop communicative skills. While studying children try to find common ideas, propose solutions, find compromise, i.e. they communicate. It is interesting for kids as information is studied in a natural way without heaps of books, exercise books and different formulae.
When doing a task, they can return several steps back and correct mistakes. It works really well. Having made a mistake a student will remember what has been done wrong much better and will automatically remember the correct answer.
