In what kind of families do kids like reading?

“My child doesn’t want to read!” is a fairly common complaint of modern parents. What obstacles stand in the way of those who are trying to instill a love of books in a child, and what role do parents play?

Most often, children interested in reading can be seen in families of three types:

  • where parents from early childhood read a lot to their kids
  • where they themselves like to read a book, and children see it
  • where a child has little contact with the TV, computer and gadgets

So, if a parent spends time reading, most probably a kid will. Parents just need to set a good example.
