Why “the cloud” is not actually in the sky

The “cloud” is not something floating in the sky. It refers to a network of physical servers located in data centers around the world.
These servers store files, run applications and process information. When you upload a photo or save a document online, it is stored on one of these machines instead of your device.
The cloud allows you to access your data from different devices and locations. It’s a simple way of using remote computers rather than relying only on your own device.
