4 phrases to demotivate your child

  • ‘What are you proud of?’ Kids can be proud of being able to draw a funny face or doing some easy tasks. Many parents will say, “You’d better do something useful.” However, being able to draw develops creativity, for example.
  • ‘When I was your age…’ Many parents think that telling their kids what they achieved at their kids’ age would motivate them. However, what the kids hear is that they are losers.
  • ‘You can do better.’ Many parents say that they are afraid to praise their kids too much or they are used to reminding their children about new goals. But it is impossible to live and work without small achievements.
  • ‘You will not do it.’ It is an obvious thing that if you tell your kid that they are a loser, they will be a loser.
