How weather forecasts are made

Weather forecasts involve much more than looking at the sky.
Meteorologists collect information from satellites, weather stations, radar and balloons around the world. Powerful computers analyse this data to predict changes in temperature, wind, rain and storms. Although forecasts aren’t always perfect, they become more accurate as more data is collected. Scientists constantly compare predictions with real weather to improve future forecasts.
Every forecast is the result of science, technology and millions of calculations working together.
