Steps to Grow Your Emotional Intelligence

To develop emotional intelligence, start by paying attention to your feelings. Take a moment to think about what you’re feeling and why it’s happening. Practicing mindfulness, like taking deep breaths or sitting quietly, can help you notice your emotions better.

Next, try to imagine how your friends might feel in different situations; this helps you understand them better. When someone is talking to you, listen carefully and show that you care about what they’re saying. Writing in a journal about your feelings and experiences can also help you learn more about yourself.  

Finally, ask your friends or family how they think you handle your emotions; their feedback can give you great tips for improvement!
