Network architects design, build and support different data communication nets from extensive cloud infrastructures to small intranets. As well as having various technical skills, network architects have a deep understanding of business plans and goals of organisations. They also need business acumen to be able to do everything from making a budget and network implementation to human resources management.
An estimated 6% rise in positions is expected by 2026. As companies and organisations are expanding their IT networks, they will need more and more specialists to create new networks and upgrade the ones they already have.
