How speakers turn electricity into sound

Have you ever wondered how music comes out of a speaker?
Inside every speaker is a small magnet and a coil of wire that work together. When electrical signals pass through the coil, it moves back and forth, causing a thin cone to vibrate. These vibrations create sound waves that travel through the air to your ears.
Different vibrations produce different notes, voices and sound effects. It’s a clever way of turning electrical energy into the sounds we hear every day.
