There are two ways of teaching kids programming. The first is when in a game they have different tasks which have to be done. Kids learn to program, create their own objects, study many other things.
The second way is when they create their own game. Kids study as they have to think of what project and what character they want to create. At the brainstorming stage they discuss the logic of the game, who the opponents and proponents are, what their new world will look like.
