In the 40s, Lamarr, together with her friend, patented an invention which gives an opportunity to control torpedoes at a distance. She came up with an idea that it was necessary to create not just a communication channel which is possible to catch, but a random code. Such a breakthrough was connected with coding and her skills in science. Unfortunately, her invention was not accepted immediately. However, 50 years later her invention turned into what is now WI-FI.
