The importance of developing fine motor skills

Many people know that active work of fingers influences brain development. Writing, drawing, buttoning up, etc assume good work of fingers, which must be practiced since early childhood.

Fine motor skills are the ability to do precise and small actions by fingers thanks to coordinated actions of skeletal, nervous and muscular systems. Playing with Lego blocks, for example, or doing any other activity by hands helps train fine motor skills.

Developing fine motor skills is connected with developing cognitive processes such as memory, attention, and hand-eye coordination. Specialists claim that fine motor skills influence the development of clarity and quality of speech.
